Crantock Big Bale Push support new appeals for 2013
2013’s Crantock Big Bale Push event is this year supporting the Mid Cornwall branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Newquay Coastguard Association, Little Hearts Matter and Young People Cornwall for their main annual Fund-raising appeals.
Every year when I put pen to paper to write something about the Bale Push (I don't use a computer) I ask myself 'What can I say that's different this year?' I always come up with the same answer. It's rather like preaching really - the message is always the same but the way the message is delivered can vary considerably.
The message of the Bale Push can be summed up under four headings.
Most people in the area know John as “Casey” – a name which has stuck with him for many years and dates back to the days when he was constructing the railway which runs in Trenance Park.
Casey has worked tirelessly for many years – supporting the Bale Push and leading the Committee as Chairman.
The Crantock Bale Push is all about supporting good causes and doing our part to give back to our local community. Each year the event is held to support a number of worthwhile organizations to help raise both money and awareness. This year we are supporting the following organizations: • MS Society • Newquay Coastguard Association • Little Hearts Matters • Young People Cornwall
The Bale Push is now in its fourteenth year and has gone from strength to strength. The original idea has grown into an event that has far exceeded the expectations of its founder members and the money raised now exceeds £55,000. Much of our revenue is provided by the individuals and companies to sponsor their space in this Magazine [we are of course hugely grateful to them]. That figure does not include the monies raised during the evening by the organisations that have their stalls on site or the monies raised by individual teams who have been sponsored to take part. Besides providing an enjoyable evening for all concerned; the evening does have serious intent and that is of course to raise money to support others with our local and wider community.
