No doubt you will remember the valiant efforts of the boys from Holywell Surf Life Saving Club who pushed a bale around Crantock Village Playing fields on the day of the last year’s Bale Push, they then rolled the bale down the village at 6pm and later took part in the 180 event … Well this year they are going for a 24 hour push!! Starting at 6pm on Thursday 12th September and finishing at 6pm on the Friday. Their valiant efforts are all in aid of the Carly Taylor Trust.
It just gets better and better year after year and it is always a blessing and a privilege to be part of the event. I am of course talking about the Crantock International Bale Push. I say international because over the years we have had teams from far flung places; Scotland (to this day I still wonder how the Scottish team got round the course as they were barely standing before they set off) and even Devon!! (I think Plymouth University sent one of their rowing crews once) neither were a match for the local surf lifesaving clubs and one particular local newspaper!!
