The longest ever Straw Bale Push will happen in Crantock near Newquay this week - to raise much needed funds for Crantock girl Carly Taylor.
The staggering plan for a 24 Hour Endurance Bale Push will definitely set World Endurance and Distance records. It will start at six o’clock in the evening on Thursday 12th September and last for 24 hours, finishing on Friday 13th September at six o’clock in the evening – non-stop all through the night and day.
One of Cornwall’s celebrated new annual traditions, the Crantock Bale Push event is back this week, giving hundreds of people of all ages an opportunity to enjoy themselves in the heart of the village while helping to raise thousand of pounds for local and very deserving causes!

Crantock Big Bale Push support new appeals for 2013
2013’s Crantock Big Bale Push event is this year supporting the Mid Cornwall branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Newquay Coastguard Association, Little Hearts Matter and Young People Cornwall for their main annual Fund-raising appeals.
Every year when I put pen to paper to write something about the Bale Push (I don't use a computer) I ask myself 'What can I say that's different this year?' I always come up with the same answer. It's rather like preaching really - the message is always the same but the way the message is delivered can vary considerably.
The message of the Bale Push can be summed up under four headings.
