JAMES BAYLEY AND THE JOHN O'GROATS TO LANDS END CYCLE CHALLENGE

For the last three years the Bale Push evening has inspired people to undertake challenges which some folk would consider crazy and others just plain mad!! In 2012 we witnessed the Holywell SLSC 12 hour Bale Push in the Village Hall Playing Field for the Carly Taylor Trust, in 2013 the same group of men pushed the Bale for 24 hours around the Playing field and in 2014 James Bayley decided to undertake an intense challenge of cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End to raise funds and awareness for the MS Trust. However not content with just doing the 10 solo cycle ride he decided to include a bale push on the 9th day after an already long day cycling.

The Big Bale Push 2014 smashes all records

A record number of teams raced huge straw bales around Crantock Village last Friday evening whilst helping to raise a record sum of money at a wonderful annual evening of fun and Fund-raising.

Crantock Big Bale Push hosted an incredible 146 teams of four of all ages, who all enjoyed competing with each other whilst raising a record amount for Charities.

The Bale Man is Back

The giant Bale Man which was destroyed in a suspected arson attack has recovered well after a short stay in hospital. Yesterday he was seen hitching a ride to his favourite spot and will be on the move a fair bit over the next few days. Make sure you give him a wave if you see him!

Crantock Bale Man and his dog torched

Two giant straw bale figures at Crantock which were made to help promote a charity event were torched overnight on Saturday.

The figures of a man and his dog, created by Crantock Bale Push using large bales of straw and some wonderful cartoon art work, were both destroyed after they were set alight at around 12:15am by persons unknown.
